Fostering Guest Interaction

In many of our previous blogs, we’ve talked about how important experiences are in today’s hotel industry. It’s what travelers are seeking when they go to a new city. One way you can enhance guest experience is by giving them the opportunity to meet new people and interact with other guests. Today in the Southeast International Hotel Brokers blog, we’ll talk about how you can encourage these interactions and create an environment for them to happen.

Opportunities for Guest Interaction Enhances the Experience

Experience. That’s a word you hear a lot when talking about how to make hotel guests happier and make their stay with you more memorable. In short, enhancing the guest experience in any unique way you can is invaluable. If you create a memorable experience for them, not only are they likely to come back for another visit, they’re likely to recommend your hotel to friends and family. A stunning impression goes a long way to building a loyal customer base.

One way to enhance guest experience is by fostering human interaction. Since everyone staying in your hotel is a visitor to the city, it can be interesting and enlightening to meet others from around the country or even the world. By creating spaces for these interactions, you’re helping to create memorable experiences.

How to Create Guest Interaction

What can you do as a hotel owner to foster these interactions? Here are a couple of ideas:

Cocktail Hour – This has been implemented in a wide variety of hotels. By serving some hors d’ oeuvres and drinks on weekend evenings, you’ll get guests to come out of their rooms or stop through the lobby area before heading out to enjoy some free amenities and conversation. You can even make an effort to make your cocktail hours unique, such as Christmas-themed cocktails around the holidays or seasonal cocktails depending on the time of year.

Hotel Events – If you have event space in your hotel that isn’t being used, why not put it to good use? You could set up paid events that guests can come to and even open them up to the public. This way guests can mingle with both other guests and locals. Examples of events you could hold include concerts, socials, food festivals, and much more.

These are just a couple of ways you could increase guest interaction in your hotel. Your possibilities are only limited by the space you have available and the amount of effort you want to put in. But this effort can easily be offset by the benefits you get from your guests immensely enjoying their experience.
